GI Jerk was in town this weekend so Chupie and I stayed out there. Saturday night we had quite the shindig. Chupie loved all the people there and couple that with the bike ride we took to the park she fell asleep earlyonly to wake up a few hours later. Then she spent most of Sunday napping on the couch. That did give me and BD a chance to go check out the house that we want to rent though.
The house is amazing. The seller (also my step-dads neighbor) bought it as a HUD house and then gutted and refinished the entire thing. New windows, siding, electric, carpettwo car garage. Its beautiful and spacious on the inside and has just enough land (enough for Chupie and the dog to run it, not so much that BD will bitch about having to mow it). Were looking at having Will move in with us for the time being which will cut our rent in more than half.
After our lease is up were looking into buying it (which is the same deal we were going to do here before we realized how tore-the-fuck up this place is and how undesirable the neighborhood is) well know for sure in a few weeks what the plan is. BD offered to do a land contract right off the bat so we may just jump into it. The taxes arent bad (about $3200 a year) and there is such piece of mind that comes with a house thats been updated to code. There is even a laundry room! A room just for laundry
Ive done some meditating on it and some visualization (holy crap Im a hippie) and I know the situation will benefit everyone involved so I really think it will happen. My only concern is melding out family life with Will. We actually talked about it at length this weekend and I explained that I want us to function as a family as opposed to him living with us or vice versa. Its a situation that could easily explode and cause fatalities but I think if we stay open and honest it should be cool. If not well be advertising for a room mate.
Weve all taken turns battling allergies for the past few weeks or so. Chupie very proudly proclaimed to BD that she has The allagies. Mine hit me this weekend so I dosed myself up with Alka Seltzer Plus and it seemed to work.
So my Plan for the week is to get started on packing and call someone to pick up the things I have set to donate. We also have to find a cheap replacement stove (via Craigslist) as my stove is coming with us even though the house isnt run with gas (yet).
So Im off to tend to housewifey things like menu planning, laundry and plant watering. Huzzah.
